Dr Jonathan May

Graduate student (1999-2003)

Jonathan joined the Brown group as a PhD student in 1999 where he collaborated closely with his CASE sponsor Oswel/Eurogentec on the synthesis of novel quenchers and duplex stabilizing agents for oligonucleotide probes. After obtaining his PhD in 2003, Jonathan took a post-doctoral position at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada. There, he studied DNAzymes and the synthesis of bicyclic peptide natural products. In 2008 Jonathan took a position as part of the Medicinal Chemistry team at the Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD) in Vancouver, a non-profit biotech company focused on developing projects to bridge the gap between academia and industry. At the CDRD, Jonathan has worked on cancer, diabetes and neurological projects and, most recently, he has been developing targeted liposomal formulations.
