Eli obtained his BSc from Shanghai Jiao Tong Univ. (SJTU) majoring in Biotechnology. He then worked in Lab of Plant Functional Genomics (SJTU) as a research assistant. His job included mapping of various mutation points in Oryza sativa (rice) and Lotus japonicus using molecular markers. Eli then switched his focus to chemistry, moving to Southampton to begin a masters in the Brown group in 2009. He will then continue to study for his PhD in the group.
